The Bible describes itself as God’s Word, the Truth, and His inspired Word. God uses His Word to reach people and to bring them to faith in Jesus Christ, to help believers grow in faith, and to lead believers through this life.
Romans 10:14-15 (NIV)
This good news mentioned in the last verse, is described and explained in detail all throughout the Bible. It tells us how God made it possible for people to be in a relationship with Him. This is made possible by what Jesus Christ has done for us when He died on the cross.
John 17:17 (NIV)
God uses His Word to change the lives of the people who put their trust in Jesus Christ and make it right with God. These people grow by reading the Bible. They will increasingly resemble the people God intended them to be when He created them.
Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
Throughout centuries, the Bible has inspired believers and non-believers. When believers read His Word, a desire will arise to do what it says. The Bible is like a compass that helps them find their way in the dark.
God Himself uses the Bible to speak to people, to draw them closer to Him, and to show them the way. We can be certain that we are in the center of His will when we follow this road, a road that we may continue to walk, and that will eventually lead us to eternal life with Him.
